Halifax data shows modest house price rise, but is it a turning point?
The UK property market offered a small surprise this week. Halifax, the country’s biggest mortgage lender, said that the average house price rose by 0.3% in August, its third consecutive monthly increase and enough to leave prices 2.2% higher than a year earlier.
